Five-state poll results boost Modi’s leadership: B Y Vijayendra

Bengaluru, Apr 4: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s strong performance in West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry has significantly strengthened the leadership of Narendra Modi, said Karnataka BJP state president B Y Vijayendra.

Speaking to the media at the party’s state office, Jagannath Bhavan in Bengaluru, Vijayendra said the results have sent out a powerful message across the country. He noted that this was the first major election under the party’s national president Nitin Nabin, making the victory even more significant.

He also praised union home minister Amit Shah, stating that his strategic planning played a crucial role in the party’s success. “Across the nation, Amit Shah is being hailed as a master strategist, and his efforts have contributed greatly to this victory,” Vijayendra said.

Highlighting the situation in West Bengal, Vijayendra saluted party workers for their resilience. He said BJP cadres in the state had faced continuous pressure and challenges for decades, and the recent victory marks a turning point. “Our workers have put an end to years of struggle through their determination,” he added.

Referring to the by-elections in Davanagere South and Bagalkot constituencies, Vijayendra said the outcome in Davanagere South is expected to be decided by a narrow margin. However, he admitted that the party did not anticipate defeat in Bagalkot. “Despite strong efforts and confidence, we faced a setback in Bagalkot, which we acknowledge,” he said.

He pointed out that party workers had worked extensively in both constituencies. He also mentioned that the Chief Minister and several cabinet ministers had campaigned intensively in Bagalkot for nearly 15 days.

Several senior leaders, including opposition leader R Ashoka, legislative council opposition leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, former deputy chief minister Dr C N Ashwathnarayan, MLC C T Ravi, Pratap Simha Nayak, and MLA Harish Poonja were present at the press conference.
