Ballia, May 5: A 25-year-old coaching teacher allegedly died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district, with preliminary investigations pointing to financial stress as a possible cause, police said on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Manish Sharma, a resident of Bithua Mor locality in Bilthra Road under the Ubhaon police station limits. He was working at a local coaching institute.
According to police, Sharma allegedly took the extreme step on Monday evening by hanging himself from an iron angle inside the coaching centre premises.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem examination.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Rasra) Alok Gupta said initial findings indicate that Sharma was under severe financial strain, particularly due to his inability to arrange funds for his sister’s upcoming wedding.
“He was facing financial difficulties, and his income from teaching was not sufficient to meet the expenses. Distressed over this, he allegedly took the step,” the officer said.
Further investigation is underway.
