Sullia, May 6: A fire broke out on a hillock near the residence of Eshwara Gowda at Kajemule in Kalanja village, causing concern among residents in the area.
Upon being alerted, the Sulya Fire and Emergency Services reportedly informed that one fire tender had already been dispatched to Ishwaramangala, while another vehicle was under repair, leaving no immediate deployment available.
In the absence of fire service support, local residents joined hands and managed to bring the fire under control.
No casualties or major property damage have been reported.
