Belagavi, May 13: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the Indian Forest Service (IFS) examination, and Basavaraj Dhareppa Kempawad, a farmer's son from Savadi village in Athani taluk, has brought immense pride to the state by securing the first rank in the country.
Basavaraj's phenomenal achievement of bagging the All India Rank (AIR) 1 has garnered widespread appreciation from all quarters. Through sheer dedication and persistent hard work, he managed to top the highly competitive national-level examination in just his second attempt. His remarkable success has brought a festive atmosphere to his family and his native village of Savadi, with locals rejoicing in his accomplishment.

Hailing from a humble agricultural background, Basavaraj completed his primary education in Savadi village. He pursued his further schooling in Athani town before enrolling at a college in Sirsi, where he completed his degree. Following his graduation, he relocated to Bengaluru to undertake rigorous preparations for the demanding UPSC examinations.
