Jammu, May 13: Police in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar have arrested two individuals for allegedly providing support to foreign terrorists, including shelter and logistical assistance in the Singhpora area of the Chatroo region, officials said on Wednesday.

According to a police statement, the arrested individuals were linked to the Saifullah group and are accused of facilitating terrorist movement and operations in the region. Authorities said the arrests were made following a detailed investigation and targeted operations based on specific intelligence inputs.

A case has been registered at Police Station Chatroo under FIR No. 03/2026, invoking relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and the Arms Act.

Police identified one of the accused as Mashkoor Ahmed, a teacher in the School Education Department and resident of Beighpora, Singhpora, Kishtwar. He is alleged to have played a key role in providing logistical support and shelter to terrorists.

The second accused, Maneer Ahmed of Bandeyan Naidgam, had earlier been arrested in connection with similar allegations.

Officials said the arrests have disrupted what they described as a critical support network aiding terrorist activity in the area. They added that further investigation is underway to identify and dismantle the wider network involved in facilitating such operations.

Jammu and Kashmir Police stated that operations against terrorist associates, overground workers, and sympathisers are ongoing as part of broader efforts to dismantle support systems linked to militancy in the region.
