Mangaluru: Tipper collides with scooter at Haleangadi; two women injured

Mangaluru, May 15:
Two women were injured, one of them seriously, after a speeding tipper collided with their scooter near the Indira Nagar railway gate in Haleangadi on Friday, May 15.

The injured have been identified as Prathibha and Vani, both residents of Indira Nagar.

According to sources, the two women, who are sisters-in-law, were heading to their workplace in Mukka on a scooter. As they were navigating the narrow road adjacent to the Indira Nagar railway gate, a fast-moving tipper rammed into their two-wheeler.

Due to the impact of the collision, Prathibha sustained severe injuries to her leg, while Vani suffered minor injuries. Locals who witnessed the accident immediately rushed to their rescue and helped shift the injured women to a private hospital in Mukka for treatment.

Personnel from the Mangaluru North traffic police visited the spot, conducted an inspection, and registered a case regarding the incident.
