Udupi, MAy 16: Mothers should impart all kinds of knowledge and values to their children, as only then can children grow into responsible citizens, said Dr Maharshi Anand Guruji, founder of Anand Siddhi Peetham and Sri Lakshmi Bhu Varaha Saligrama Kshetra.
He was speaking during a religious gathering held as part of the Maha Rudrayaga being conducted for the welfare of society under the leadership of Prasad Raj Kanchan at Kodavoor Shankaranarayana Temple on Friday.

Transport and Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy inaugurated the programme and said that a Rudrayaga had reportedly been conducted in the region nearly 75 years ago, and now Prasad Raj Kanchan had been blessed with the opportunity to organise it once again. He expressed hope that the yaga conducted for universal welfare would bring prosperity to the state.
The minister also raised concern over the increasing number of road accidents involving two-wheelers, stating that negligence among riders was the major reason. He advised youngsters to drive carefully. As per the Central Government’s directive, helmets were symbolically distributed to children by Minister Ramalinga Reddy and RTO officer Santosh Shetty with support from Ather Company, stressing the importance of wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers.
Speaking on the occasion, Prasad Raj Kanchan, working president of the Maha Rudrayaga Committee, said he was inspired to conduct the yaga after visiting a Shiva temple during a pilgrimage. He noted that performing such rituals is difficult for common people and expressed his desire to make it possible for the public to participate in and witness the yaga.
