Mangaluru, May 16: The Rotary Club of Mangalore organised a special panel discussion titled ‘Mangaluru Rising’ at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Kodialbail, bringing together civic leaders, prominent builders, professionals, and members of the public for an engaging conversation on the future growth and development of the city.
The event was graced by Darshan H V, IAS, deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada district, who addressed the gathering on the importance of planned and sustainable urban growth, infrastructure development, and civic responsibility.



































The panel discussion featured K Shrinath Hebbar, managing director of Land Trades Builders & Developers; Rohan Monteiro, founder and CEO of Rohan Corporation; and Rtn Satish Kamath representing the Rotary Club of Mangalore. The session was moderated by Rotarian Dr Ajay R Kamath.
The discussion covered a wide range of topics concerning the future of Mangaluru, including sustainability, tourism, employment opportunities, urban planning, infrastructure, and the city’s growing investment potential. The programme also included an interactive question-and-answer session with enthusiastic participation from the audience.
President of the Rotary Club of Mangalore, Rtn Vinod Aranha, welcomed the gathering and highlighted some of the major community service projects undertaken by the club over the years. Rtn Aditya Pai, director – international service, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the role of The Rotary Foundation in supporting humanitarian initiatives.
A special highlight of the evening was an online address by DGN Rtn Ravishankar Dakoju, who spoke about his personal journey of contributing to The Rotary Foundation and the importance of philanthropy as a service to humanity.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of the Rotary Club of Mangalore highlighted the importance of bringing together civic authorities, industry leaders, and socially conscious citizens to collectively envision the future of the region.
The evening also served as a platform to showcase the service initiatives and community projects undertaken by the Rotary Club of Mangalore through The Rotary Foundation and other humanitarian activities.
