Puttur: Pharmacy student from Gadag drowns in Kumaradhara river

Puttur, May 21: In a tragic incident, a college student drowned while swimming in the Kumaradhara river near Kathara in Bellipady village on Thursday, May 21.

The deceased has been identified as Kiran, a native of Gadag. It is gathered that he was pursuing a pharmacy course at an educational institution in Puttur.

According to reports, Kiran had gone to the river for a swim along with three other youths. While swimming, he was reportedly caught in the water currents and drowned.

His body was retrieved from the river and shifted to the Puttur government hospital.

The local police visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
