Udupi, May 22: Pace Media, in association with the Ron Lyn Menez Foundation, has officially announced YUVA Wilfy Nite, scheduled to be held on December 19 at Zayo Village Greens.
The official poster and tickets for the much-awaited event were released recently in Udupi. The newly appointed bishop of Udupi diocese, Dr Leslie C D’Souza, unveiled the event poster and extended his best wishes for the grand success of the programme. Tickets for the event were formally released by chancellor Fr Stephen D’Souza.
Trustees of the Ron Lyn Menez Foundation, Roshan and Rayan Menezes, were present on the occasion along with members of the Rebimbus family — Vishwas, Charleen, Roger Rebimbus.
YUVA Wilfy Nite is being organized as a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Konkani singer, composer, lyricist Wilfy Rebimbus, fondly remembered as the ‘Konkan Kogul’. Through his soulful music, meaningful lyrics, and dedication to Konkani culture, Wilfy Rebimbus played a pioneering role in taking Konkani music to global audiences. His songs, deeply rooted in family values, faith, love, tradition, and the beauty of coastal life, continue to resonate with generations of Konkani-speaking people across the world.
Over the decades, Wilfy Rebimbus became a cultural icon whose work inspired countless artists and strengthened the identity of Konkani language and music. His timeless compositions remain an integral part of Konkani cultural celebrations and family gatherings even today.
The event aims to encourage the younger generation to reconnect with their cultural roots, appreciate Konkani music and traditions, and carry forward the rich legacy of Wilfy Rebimbus. Organizers believe that initiatives like YUVA Wilfy Nite will help preserve and promote Konkani language, music, and culture among today’s youth.
During the event, golden melodies of Wilfy Rebimbus will be performed by a new generation of young and electrifying artistes led by his grandson Roger Rebimbus, who is ready to carry forward the musical legacy.
Tickets for the event are now available in three categories:
• VIP – Rs 500
• GOLD – Rs 300
• SILVER – Rs 200
A special lucky dip draw will also be conducted during the programme, where winners will walk away with exciting cash prizes. Each Lucky Dip coupon is priced at Rs 500, and as part of a promotional offer, participants purchasing 10 coupons will receive 5 additional coupons free.
All proceeds from the event will go towards the projects of the Ron Lyn Menez Foundation, especially ‘Nazareth Nest’ — an initiative aimed at building home for needy family with land and well-water facility — along with supporting the Foundation’s future charitable projects.
