Bantwal, May 26: A scooter rider lost his life in a road accident near Mani in Vittal on Sunday May 24.
Police said the accident occurred when a scooter travelling from Kalladka towards Puttur rammed into the rear of a lorry.
The rider, identified as Kalandar Shah, sustained serious injuries in the impact and died while being taken to hospital.
Officials said the deceased was originally from Sullia and was currently residing in a rented house at Kallare in Puttur. He was working at the Mangalore dock area.
The deceased is survived by his wife and two children.
Police have registered a case and investigation is underway.
