Mangaluru, May 29: A motivational session for the teachers of St Theresa’s School was conducted on May 29 in the school auditorium by the renowned academician Prof Matthew C Ninan. The session was attended by the principal, Sr Lourdes, along with the teaching staff.
The programme began with a prayer service invoking god’s blessings upon the gathering. Prof Matthew C Ninan was warmly welcomed with a sapling as a token of gratitude and respect. He then addressed the teachers on the topic “Effective Classroom Management – An Achievable Goal.”

















During the session, Prof Matthew highlighted the need for teachers to continually update their knowledge and teaching methods in order to create a positive and productive classroom environment. He spoke about the importance of subject mastery, careful lesson preparation, understanding student psychology, and practising empathy in the classroom. The concept of the Pygmalion Effect and its influence on student performance was explained with meaningful examples, making the session both informative and inspiring.
The interactive question-and-answer session that followed enabled the teachers to share their thoughts and gain further clarity on various aspects of classroom management.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, after which the principal, Sr Lourdes, presented a memento to Prof Matthew as a gesture of appreciation. The session proved to be enriching and motivating, reminding the teachers that true education is shaped not only by knowledge imparted, but also by the character, attitude, and compassion of the educator.
