Media Release

Mangaluru, May 30: A comprehensive teachers' orientation programme was successfully conducted on May 29 at the Ladyhill Victoria High School Auditorium. The full-day event, which brought together the entire teaching faculty of Ladyhill Institute alongside educators from St Agnes Higher Primary and High School, and St Ann’s Higher Primary and High School. The primary objective of this joint initiative was to reinforce foundational institutional values and equip educators with modern pedagogical strategies to navigate current classroom dynamics.

The programme commenced with dynamic icebreaker sessions designed to foster camaraderie, lower barriers, and build a collaborative spirit among the teachers from the different participating institutions. Following these opening activities, the first official session was delivered by the keynote speaker, Sr Jeswina AC, who spoke on the topic ‘The AC stamp on education.’ In this session, Sr Jeswina emphasized the distinct educational legacy, core values, and pedagogical philosophy associated with Apostolic Carmel institutions, reminding educators of their vital mission to impart holistic, value-based education while maintaining high standards of excellence.

The second half of the programme featured Fr Kiran Nazareth SDB, who addressed the critical topic of ‘Handling the Gen Zen in the Present Scenario'. Fr Nazareth focused on the unique psychological, social, and behavioral patterns of today's digital-native students. He provided the audience with practical methodologies for the classroom, focusing on emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and effective communication strategies to successfully bridge the generational gap between educators and modern students.

To deepen the impact of the presentations, the orientation included active group discussion sessions. The participating teachers engaged enthusiastically, sharing real-world classroom challenges and brainstorming collective strategies. This interactive segment allowed educators to exchange firsthand experiences and create practical blueprints on how to effectively guide, mentor, and manage students in the current academic environment.

The successful event concluded with an official vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource persons, organizing management, and all participating faculties for their dedication. The day formally came to a close with a collective group photograph capturing all the dignitaries and educators, marking a collaborative milestone for the upcoming academic year.
