Trivedi's Fate Rocks Parliament, Forces Adjournment

New Delhi, Mar 15 (IANS): The fate of Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi, whose resignation has been demanded by his own Trinamool Congress for hiking rail fares, rocked both houses of parliament Thursday, leading to adjournments.

An unrelenting opposition sought answers from the government even after Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in the Lok Sabha and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla in the Rajya Sabha clarified that he had not quit.

Amid the din caused by opposition parties, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari adjourned their respective houses till noon.
