Tehran, Jun 5: Iran's Ambassador to India, Dr Mohammad Fathali, has expressed gratitude to the people of India for their support and solidarity during what he described as a difficult period for his country amid ongoing tensions in West Asia.
Addressing an event in New Delhi, the envoy said Indians from different communities stood with Iran and conveyed their sympathies during the crisis.

“People came forward and shared in our sorrow. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the people of India, regardless of their religious affiliation,” Fathali said.
The ambassador's remarks came against the backdrop of heightened tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel. Referring to recent developments, he said the support extended by Indian citizens had been deeply appreciated by the Iranian people.
Fathali also highlighted the longstanding ties between India and Iran, noting that expressions of solidarity had come from people across the country.
Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts to ease tensions in the region continue. US President Donald Trump has expressed optimism about the possibility of progress in negotiations with Iran, while Iranian officials have maintained that there has been no significant breakthrough in talks so far.
The evolving situation in West Asia continues to draw global attention due to its potential impact on regional stability and international energy markets.
