Beltangady, Jun 5: Several persons sustained injuries after a car and a scooter collided head-on near Maddadka-Varakade in Beltangady taluk on Thursday, causing both vehicles to veer off the road and fall into a roadside drain.
According to reports, the scooter was travelling towards Madanthyar from Beltangady, while the car was heading in the opposite direction when the accident occurred.
The impact of the collision reportedly threw both vehicles into the roadside drain. Local residents rushed to the spot and shifted the injured riders to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Both the car and scooter suffered considerable damage in the mishap.
