Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 6: Marking the beginning of a meaningful partnership between home and school, Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, organised an orientation programme for the parents of its nursery and kindergarten students.

The session brought together parents, educators and school leaders to share insights and expectations for the academic year ahead.

The programme commenced with a prayer, invoking God's blessings and setting a serene and positive tone for the gathering. Principal Sr Melissa AC extended a heartfelt welcome to the gathering and introduced the keynote speaker, Lugina Miranda, director of You Matter Counselling and Training Centre, Mangaluru.

Addressing the parents, Sr Melissa shared important guidelines for the academic year and emphasised the need for open, healthy and consistent communication among parents, teachers and the school management to ensure the holistic development of every child.

The keynote session by Lugina Miranda was both insightful and engaging. Speaking on the art of effective and mindful parenting, she highlighted the principles of new-generation parenting through practical examples and relatable experiences that resonated with the audience.

The programme then moved to the academic orientation segment, led by the kindergarten faculty. Tr Shweta provided an overview of the learning experiences and developmental milestones at the nursery level, while Tr Joyce from the LKG section and Tr Neetha from the UKG section further familiarised parents with the curriculum, classroom practices, assessment patterns, and expectations for the year ahead.

Administrator Sr Carissima subsequently briefed the gathering on PTA and facilitated the voluntary enrolment of parents interested in serving as PTEC members.

A brief interactive question-and-answer session provided parents with an opportunity to seek clarification on school procedures and other points related to their child's learning journey. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Tr Sandra, while Tr Sumana efficiently compered the event.

The orientation programme proved to be informative and enriching, reinforcing the shared commitment of parents and educators to nurturing confident, happy and well-rounded learners.
