Udupi, Jun 8: Following complaints from the public regarding water leakage at the Udupi service bus stand during the monsoon season, causing inconvenience to passengers, Congress leader of the Udupi constituency, Prasad Raj Kanchan, visited the bus stand and inspected the situation.
During the visit, he interacted with passengers and gathered information about the difficulties they face during rainy weather, particularly due to the inability to find a dry place to sit. He assured the public that he would make every possible effort at the government level to ensure that the issue is resolved.

Speaking on the occasion, Prasad Raj Kanchan said that during his visit to the city bus stand, shop owners and members of the public brought several issues to his attention. He stated that he had already contacted the municipal commissioner and urged the authorities to address the problems immediately.
Prasad Raj Kanchan further said that shop owners had complained about buses being unnecessarily parked within the bus stand premises, preventing customers from accessing their shops and affecting their business. In this regard, he said that the matter had also been brought to the attention of the superintendent of police, requesting an inspection and appropriate action.
Prasad Raj Kanchan alleged that the poor condition and mismanagement at the service bus stand clearly reflect the failure of the Udupi MLA. He said that it was disappointing that the MLA, despite holding a responsible position, had not taken effective steps to address the longstanding issues. He urged the MLA to pay attention to the matter and take immediate action to resolve the problems faced by passengers, shopkeepers, and the general public.
