Mumbai, Jun 11: Maharashtra Cyber has registered an FIR against former Bigg Boss contestant and comedian Pranit More over alleged publication and circulation of obscene and objectionable content on social media platforms.
The case was registered at the Nodal Cyber Police Station under FIR No. 36/2026 against Pranit More, Himanshu Jangra, Dr Sejal Pawar and other persons found involved.
According to Maharashtra Cyber, the offence has been registered under Sections 75(1)(iv), 75(3), 294 and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, along with Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

Officials said the case relates to videos and clips circulated on YouTube, Instagram and other social media platforms in connection with a programme hosted by Pranit More. The content allegedly contained obscene, offensive and objectionable remarks concerning women, consent and deceased persons.
The cyber investigation reportedly found that one video clip featured remarks by Himanshu Jangra suggesting entitlement to physical intimacy in return for money spent during a date. Authorities alleged that the comments portrayed women in a derogatory manner and trivialised issues relating to consent and dignity.
Another clip allegedly showed Dr Sejal Pawar making obscene and derogatory remarks concerning deceased male bodies and medical cadavers used for educational purposes. Investigators said the content appeared disrespectful to the dignity of the deceased and contrary to accepted standards of public decency.
Maharashtra Cyber further alleged that the content was recorded, promoted, published and disseminated across multiple digital platforms as part of the programme hosted by Pranit More, with the objective of increasing viewership, audience engagement and generating revenue through online monetisation.
As part of the ongoing investigation, summons have been issued to Pranit More, Himanshu Jangra and Dr Sejal Pawar, directing them to appear before Maharashtra Cyber for questioning and recording of statements.
In a statement, Maharashtra Cyber said it continues to monitor online platforms and social media ecosystems to identify content that may violate existing laws or adversely affect public order, dignity and societal interests.
The agency appealed to content creators, influencers and social media users to exercise caution while creating and sharing online content and to ensure compliance with legal provisions.
It also urged citizens not to circulate or forward allegedly obscene and objectionable material on social media, warning that dissemination of such content could attract legal action under applicable laws.
Maharashtra Cyber reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe and responsible digital ecosystem and said strict action would be taken against unlawful activities conducted through online platforms.
