Budget is Clerical, Ineffective: CPI

New Delhi, Mar 16 (IANS): The budget for 2012-13 was "absolutely clerical" and "ineffective", Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Gurudas Dasgupta said Friday.

The budget could have been prepared by the clerical staff of the finance ministry rather than Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, he said.

"It is an absolute clerical budget. It could have been prepared by the clerical staff of finance ministry and there was no need for the finance minister prepare it," Dasgupta told IANS.

"It is ineffective and lacks focus. Increase in social welfare is nominal and no employment generation scheme is there," he said.
