Puttur, Jun 15: A woman who sustained serious injuries in a collision between a lorry and a car near Kootelu, close to Uppinangady on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway, succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Mangaluru on June 13.
The deceased has been identified as Bharathi (48), a resident of Maroli in Mangaluru taluk.
The accident occurred on June 1 when Bharathi and other devotees were travelling in a WagonR car on a pilgrimage to Subrahmanya. According to reports, a gas cylinder transport lorry allegedly entered a one-way road from another road and collided with the car.

The impact left the car driver Deepak and pilgrims Gururaj, Dhanush, Geetha and Bharathi seriously injured.
All the injured were admitted to hospital for treatment. While Bharathi was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mangaluru, she succumbed to her injuries on June 13.
Deepak continues to receive treatment in hospital, while the other injured persons have been discharged after recovering from their injuries.
Police are investigating the incident.
