Udupi: Bantakal Engineering College students develop AI based Systems

Udupi, Jun 18: Students of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, Kavya, Prajna, Shreepriya, and Shreya Shetty developed an innovative AI-based system to monitor the health of jasmine plants.

The team was guided by Dr Rajesh Nayak, head of the department of artificial intelligence and machine learning, the project combines soil nutrient analysis and leaf image processing to identify plant diseases and nutrient deficiencies at an early stage.

Using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and explainable AI techniques, the system provides farmers with timely insights for effective crop management, helping improve jasmine yield and promote sustainable agriculture.
