Karkala, Jun 19: An auto-rickshaw driver sustained injuries after a private bus and an auto-rickshaw collided head-on at Miyyaru Jodukatte in Karkala on Friday morning, June 19.
According to reports, the private bus was travelling from Bajagoli towards Karkala when it crashed into an auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction on the same stretch of road.
The impact of the collision left the auto-rickshaw completely mangled, while the front portion of the bus suffered damage.
The injured auto-rickshaw driver, identified as Chandrakant Shenoy, was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Local residents alleged that an unscientific road curve at the spot may have contributed to the accident and urged authorities to address safety concerns on the stretch.
