Srinivas University organises Industrial visit to Deccan Plast Industries Pvt Ltd, Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jun 20: The department of BBA, Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC), Srinivas University, organised an industrial visit to Deccan Plast Industries Pvt Ltd, Mangaluru, on June 19.

The visit witnessed the participation of 57 students from II- and III-year BBA programmes, including FinTech, BRD, and AI specialisations. The students were accompanied by Prof Akshay.

The visit was organised to provide students with practical exposure to manufacturing operations, production management, and industrial practices followed in the plastic manufacturing sector.

The primary objective was to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industrial application by helping students understand production processes, quality control measures, supply chain management, and workplace safety practices adopted in a manufacturing organisation.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the management and staff of Deccan Plast Industries Pvt Ltd. The company representatives guided the students through various sections of the manufacturing unit and provided detailed explanations regarding the production process, machinery, quality control systems, and operational procedures.

Students observed the conversion of raw materials into finished plastic products and gained firsthand knowledge of industrial workflows and manufacturing technologies.

The interactive sessions enabled students to understand the importance of production planning, quality management, and teamwork in achieving organizational goals. Students also interacted with industry professionals and gained valuable insights into operational challenges, technological advancements, safety measures, and management practices within the manufacturing sector.

The visit proved to be highly informative and beneficial, helping students strengthen their analytical, managerial, and observational skills while enhancing their understanding of manufacturing operations, quality control procedures, supply chain management, and organisational efficiency. The programme was well received and provided valuable practical exposure to the functioning of a modern manufacturing industry.

The visit was organised under the guidance of Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean, IMC; Prof Shilpa K, head of the department, BBA; Prof Shwetha N S, course coordinator, BBA department; and Prof K Shivani, industrial visit faculty coordinator.
