Mangaluru, Jun 20: The LKG children of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, enthusiastically participated in a range of engaging activities designed to enhance their fine and gross motor skills while promoting learning through play.
One of the highlights was the hoop pass challenge, where children skilfully passed a ball through hula hoops and around patterns created using chapati dough. Through exciting blowing and movement activities, the children strengthened their breathing control, concentration, and motor skills while enjoying every moment of play.

The little learners enthusiastically participated in a fun movement activity, learning to follow directions such as left, right, and stop. They also enjoyed threading pasta onto ribbons, carefully passing the pasta pieces through the thread. This hands-on exercise strengthened their finger muscles, enhanced fine motor control, and developed hand-eye coordination.
To promote physical movement and listening skills, the children actively participated in action rhymes and movement-based activities. Through these enjoyable sessions, they learned to follow simple instructions and understand basic directions such as left, right, and stop.
In addition, the children explored their creativity by creating colourful writing patterns using coloured paper pieces. They also took part in a balancing activity, where they carefully balanced two cups using a stick. This task encouraged concentration, patience, balance, and coordination while fostering problem-solving skills.
These thoughtfully planned activities provided meaningful opportunities for experiential learning, enabling the children to develop essential motor, cognitive and social skills in a joyful and stimulating environment.
