Panaji, Jun 23: Two separate road accidents reported on Monday night claimed the life of a young scooter rider and left a Kadamba bus driver injured.

In the first incident, 22-year-old scooter rider Ravish Tari died after his scooter allegedly collided with a tempo. The pillion rider, Laxman Bhosle, suffered serious head injuries and was shifted to Goa Medical College (GMC) for treatment.

The accident has once again raised concerns over speeding and road safety on Goa’s roads.

In another incident, a Panaji–Sawantwadi Kadamba bus met with an accident near Torse Rajwada Junction between 9 pm and 9.30 pm after its front tyre reportedly burst.

The bus driver lost control of the vehicle, which knocked down a streetlight pole before swerving into the opposite lane. The driver sustained minor injuries, while all passengers escaped without injuries.

Authorities are looking into the circumstances behind both accidents.
