Mangaluru, Jun 26: Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management (YIASCM), a constituent institution of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), has achieved a landmark milestone by being officially recognized as an IATA Authorized Training Center (ATC) by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
This recognition marks a proud moment for Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), which emerges as a pioneer university from Coastal Karnataka with an IATA Authorized Training Center through its constituent institution, Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management (YIASCM). The achievement reflects the University’s commitment to offering globally benchmarked, industry-oriented education in aviation, logistics, travel, tourism, and supply chain management.
IATA Training Centers are designed to provide globally recognized aviation education, equipping students and professionals with industry-standard skills, certifications, and career-oriented training. These centers serve as specialized hubs for aviation and travel industry learning, helping participants meet international standards set by IATA.
Through IATA certification, students can enhance their career prospects in airlines, airports, travel agencies, cargo operations, ground handling, airport management, logistics, customer service, tourism, and supply chain management. The certification provides global recognition and adds professional value to students seeking opportunities in India and abroad.
The IATA–YIASCM Authorized Training Center is established to deliver globally recognized aviation education and professional training aligned with international industry standards. Through its structured training framework, IATA offers flexible learning pathways, including self-paced online distance learning and e-learning courses, enabling students and professionals to pursue globally valued aviation certifications alongside their academic and professional commitments. The Center will function as a specialized training hub for the aviation and travel industries, preparing learners to meet the operational, service, and professional standards set by IATA.
YIASCM offers the following undergraduate degree programmes with IATA:
• BCom logistics and aviation
• BBA logistics and aviation
• BBA logistics and supply chain management with minor in port management
These programmes are designed to provide students with academic knowledge, practical exposure, industry-standard curriculum, and professional competencies required for careers in the rapidly growing aviation and logistics sectors.
With India’s aviation industry witnessing significant growth, the demand for trained professionals in aviation, airport operations, travel, tourism, cargo, and logistics continues to rise.
The establishment of an IATA Authorized Training Center at YIASCM will provide students from Coastal Karnataka and nearby regions access to globally recognized aviation training.
