BJP's NCTC Amendment Defeated


New Delhi, Mar 19 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) amendment on the controversial anti-terror intelligence hub was defeated in the Lok Sabha Monday after the opposition pressed for a vote on the issue.

The amendment regarding the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) was moved by BJP's Sushma Swaraj who is also the leader of the opposition in the house.

At least 125 members voted for the amendment and 226 voted against it. One member abstained.
