Mumbai, Jul 3: Alleged gangster Anmol Bishnoi, an accused in the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence last year, has moved a special court in Mumbai seeking to surrender in the case and participate in the ongoing trial.

Bishnoi, who is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail in connection with another case, submitted through his lawyers that he wished to voluntarily surrender before the court "in the interest of a fair trial and justice."

In his plea, he requested the court to allow his appearance through video conferencing and sought the issuance of a production warrant to the Tihar Jail authorities, as he is already in judicial custody and cannot appear in person.

The special court has directed the prosecution to file its response to the application.

Bishnoi was deported from the United States in November last year and was subsequently arrested in a 2022 case linked to an alleged nexus between organised criminal gangs and the banned terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). The case pertains to allegations of raising funds, recruiting youths and planning terror activities in India.

In his application, Bishnoi stated that charges in the Salman Khan firing case had already been framed on November 13, 2025, and that several prosecution witnesses had been examined in his absence.

The firing incident took place outside Salman Khan's Bandra residence on April 14, 2024, when motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly opened fire at the actor's home. Investigators later claimed the attack was linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with Anmol Bishnoi named among the key accused.
