Mangaluru, Jul 5: The grade 1 students of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru enthusiastically engaged in a series of fun-filled, hands-on learning activities across various subjects, making learning both meaningful and enjoyable.
In English, they identified and sorted nouns into people, places, animals, and things, and classified words as common nouns and proper nouns.
Picture clues made Hindi learning exciting as students formed words and reinforced them by writing in trays filled with rice flour.

Creativity blossomed in Kannada as children traced letters with flowers and matched picture cards to their corresponding initial letters.
Interactive matching activities in EVS helped students understand the five sense organs. They explored how each sense organ helps to observe and interact with the world around.
Using an abacus and pebbles, the young mathematicians developed a clear understanding of place value by representing hundreds, tens and ones. The activities enabled them to visualise numbers, strengthen their number sense and build confidence in working with place values.
These engaging, activity-based experiences nurtured curiosity, strengthened concepts, and transformed learning into an enjoyable journey for every child.
