Mangaluru, Jul 6: Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), Kotekar celebrated Vanamahotsava on July 4 in the school auditorium with great enthusiasm, creating awareness about the importance of protecting and preserving nature.
The programme was graced by the chief guest Dr Siddaraju M N, associate professor, University College, Mangalore, along with vice principal Sr Anitha D’Souza AC and coordinator Disha.
The celebration commenced with a prayer song, followed by a graceful welcome dance. As a symbolic part of the celebration, the students presented a sapling, and the dignitaries watered it, signifying the importance of nurturing nature and building a greener future. The gathering was formally welcomed through the welcome speech, followed by a presentation on the significance of Vanamahotsava, which highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and tree plantation.

The students then presented a meaningful musical drama and a thought-provoking mime show, spreading awareness about protecting the environment and encouraging sustainable living.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Siddaraju M N inspired the students to become responsible caretakers of nature and emphasized that every small effort towards protecting the environment contributes to a better tomorrow.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, the dignitaries, staff, students, and everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration.
