Ladyhill Victoria High School holds PTA General Body Meeting, elects new vice-president

Mangaluru, Jul 7: The PTA General Body Meeting of Ladyhill Victoria High School was held at Jubilee Hall on the July 4. The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the chief guest, Dr Vidya Vinutha D’Souza, who was accompanied by a band that greeted her as she entered the auditorium.

The proceedings began with an invocation, featuring a prayer song seeking blessings from the Almighty. Following this, the chief guest and the other dignitaries lighted the lamp. Dr Vidya Vinutha D’Souza, a distinguished orator, and a professor and head of the department of social work at St Aloysious college, graced the event. She was accompanied by notable personalities including Sr Maria Kripa AC, the joint secretary of Ladyhill Institutions; Sr Pushpa Pinto AC, the headmistress as well as Praveen PTA vice president.

Sr Jennifer AC delivered the welcome speech, extending a warm greeting to Dr Vidya Vinutha D’Souza and to everyone present. The chief guest then addressed the gathering, speaking on the topic: 'The role of parents in upbringing their children'. She emphasized the importance of strong family relationships, highlighting the role of parents in nurturing children, the do's and don'ts of parenting, and fostering healthy relationships within the family. Her speech underscored the significance of parental involvement in a child's development.

The session concluded with expressions of gratitude to the chief guest for her valuable insights.

The meeting continued with the reading of the report of the PTA general body meeting by teacher Elizabeth, followed by the presentation of the audited statement of accounts by teacher Angela.

Next, Sr Pushpa Pinto AC, the headmistress, provided important instructions for the students and addressed the parents on maintaining discipline and cooperation within the school community.

The top scorers of high school were felicitated. The felicitation of the SSLC examination toppers was conducted by teacher Elizabeth and teacher Wilma DSouza, wherein Shreyas and Thanushree were felicitated and Students who secured above 600 marks were presented with mementos as a mark of recognition.

The president of the PTA, Sr Maria Kripa AC, addressed the parents, emphasizing the importance of active parental involvement in students' academic and personal growth.

The formation of the new PTA core committee was then conducted under the guidance of teacher Angela during which Anwitha was elected as the new PTA vice president.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by teacher Sweety. The proceedings were gracefully compered by teacher Manjula and teacher Bindu.

The event was a successful gathering fostering collaboration among parents, teachers, and students for the betterment of the school community.
