Udupi, Jul 13: Former MP V S Ugrappa on Monday questioned the silence of Pejawar Math seer over the alleged irregularities related to the Ram Mandir, asking why he had not spoken out despite the allegations.

Addressing a press conference held at Udupi press club on July 13, V S Ugrappa said, "Why is the Pejawar Math swamiji, who has renounced desire, anger, greed and attachment, maintaining silence over the alleged Ram Mandir scam? Does he have any role in this case?" he asked.

Alleging that the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi bears direct responsibility for the allegations surrounding the Ram Mandir, Ugrappa said, "Those who could allegedly loot the temple of Maryada Purushottam Rama would not hesitate to loot the country as well," he remarked.

He further accused the BJP, RSS and VHP of "looting the country" and said that if the Pejawar Math swamiji had moral responsibility, he should apologise to the people of the nation.

Ugrappa also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath resign from their respective posts if they truly respected Lord Rama.

Calling for a comprehensive investigation into the allegations related to the Ram Mandir, Ugrappa urged that the truth be brought before the people of the country.
