Nashik, Jul 14: One passenger was killed and five others were injured after a private luxury bus overturned in the Somthane Josh Ghat section on the Yeola-Nandgaon State Highway in Maharashtra's Nashik district during the early hours of Monday.
According to preliminary information, the bus, registered in Madhya Pradesh, was travelling through the ghat when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.
Around 20 to 25 passengers were travelling in the bus at the time of the accident. The impact triggered panic among the passengers as the vehicle overturned on the road.

One passenger died on the spot, while five to six others sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to the Rural Hospital in Nandgaon, where they are undergoing treatment.
The overturned bus blocked the middle of the highway, disrupting traffic on the Yeola-Nandgaon route. Long queues of vehicles formed on both sides of the road as traffic came to a standstill.
Police and local residents rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information about the accident and launched rescue operations.
Authorities are working to remove the bus and restore normal traffic movement. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, and police have launched an investigation into the incident.
