Mangaluru, Jul 14: The kindergarten and primary students of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, celebrated the school feast, the Feast of Mary, Mother of Mount Carmel, the Patroness of the School, on July 14 in the school auditorium with profound devotion, gratitude and vibrant cultural expressions, commemorating the rich spiritual heritage of the Carmelite family.
The programme commenced with a solemn prayer service. Students warmly welcomed the gathering in several international languages, symbolising the universality of the Carmelite family united across nations in faith and thanksgiving. A graceful welcome dance unfolded the enduring virtues embodied by Our Lady of Mount Carmel - Wisdom, Empathy, Love, Compassion, Obedience, Mercy, and Service.





























The gathering was warmly welcomed by Manvitha, Aiden, and Raiza, who greeted the chief guest, Sr Maria Nidhisha, superior of Maryhill Convent, Mangaluru, along with the administrator Sr Carissima, the superior of Vijayamari Convent Sr Reshma Dsouza, coordinators, teachers, parents, and fellow students.
One of the most captivating moments of the celebration was the spectacular skit, “The Light of Carmel”. Through compelling narration, expressive performances, a vibrant angel dance, and soulful musical interludes, the production beautifully portrayed the inspiring journey of St. Simon Stock and the divine gift of the Brown Scapular. This was followed by a vibrant celebration dance and a melodious group song, offering a heartfelt tribute to the patroness of the school, Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, Sr Maria Nidhisha AC, reflected on the significance of the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and encouraged the students to embrace the Marian virtues of humility, faith, and compassion. She highlighted the importance of prayer, care, and the courage to stand for the truth, inspiring the young learners to become beacons of hope. Sr Reshma D'Souza, in her address, applauded the students and teachers for presenting a meaningful programme that beautifully celebrated the glorious heritage of the Carmelite Order.
The much-awaited prize distribution ceremony was held to honour the winners of the various competitions organised in preparation for the School Feast.
The entire feast celebration was meticulously planned and presented by the students and mentors of Grades IV A, B, and C. The programme was gracefully compered by Swasthi, Vihaan, Swarah, Poojya, Radon, and Ishaanvi. Sharvi and Hridhaan proposed the vote of thanks. The feast concluded on a jubilant note with a grand finale hymn in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, followed by warm wishes for a happy School Feast.
