Bulandshahr, Jul 15: A dispute over a financial transaction ended in bloodshed in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district, leaving two people dead and two others critically injured after violence erupted between two groups in Nizampur village.

The incident took place under the Sikandrabad Police Station limits, where an argument over money reportedly escalated into a fierce clash involving members of rival groups.

According to police, the confrontation began when Uttam Sharma, a resident of Sikandrabad, got into a heated argument with Prashant over a financial matter. As tensions mounted, supporters from both sides joined the dispute, which quickly turned violent.

During the clash, firearms were allegedly used, resulting in multiple injuries. Police said Ajab Singh (45) was shot during the exchange of fire and died on the spot.

In what investigators describe as a retaliatory act, members of the opposing group allegedly drove a vehicle into Sonu alias Sunil (40), killing him instantly.

Two others, identified as Arvind and Ratan, sustained gunshot injuries and were rushed to hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

Bulandshahr Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dinesh Kumar Singh said preliminary findings indicate that the violence was triggered by a monetary dispute that rapidly escalated into a fatal confrontation.

"The altercation turned into a physical fight, followed by gunfire. Ajab Singh lost his life in the shooting, while Arvind and Ratan were injured and are receiving medical treatment," the SSP said.

He added that Sonu was allegedly run over by a vehicle during the retaliatory violence, leading to his death at the scene.

Police have launched an investigation to identify everyone involved in the incident, and officials said strict legal action will be taken against those found responsible.

Following the violence, a heavy police force from three police stations, along with senior officers including the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Meerut Range, the SSP, SP City and the Circle Officer, was deployed in the village to maintain law and order and oversee the investigation.

Authorities said the probe is ongoing, and further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
