Mangaluru Jul 15: The department of BBA, Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC), Srinivas University, organized an industrial visit to Kalyani Bottling Industries, Mulki, on July 11, 2026. The visit witnessed the participation of 61 students from II Year BBA Hospital Administration (HA) and III Year BBA FinTech and BRD programmes. The students were accompanied by Prof Shilpa K and Prof K Shivani.
The visit was organized to provide students with practical exposure to the beverage manufacturing industry and its production processes. The primary objective was to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industrial practices by helping students understand modern manufacturing operations, bottling technology, quality assurance, packaging systems, inventory management, and workplace safety. The visit also promoted interdisciplinary learning by exposing students to management practices followed in a large-scale manufacturing organization.


Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the management and staff of Kalyani Bottling Industries. The company representatives guided the students through various sections of the bottling plant and provided detailed explanations regarding the complete manufacturing process, including water purification, beverage preparation, bottle washing, automated filling, capping, labelling, packaging, and storage. Students also learned about the advanced machinery used in production, quality control procedures, hygiene standards, and safety practices followed within the manufacturing unit.
The visit provided the hospital administration students with an out-of-the-box learning experience by exposing them to industrial management practices beyond the healthcare sector, helping them understand that management principles are applicable across diverse industries. For the FinTech and BRD students, the visit served as valuable practical exposure to production systems, operational efficiency, quality management, inventory control, and supply chain management, enabling them to relate theoretical concepts with real-world industrial operations.
The interactive sessions with industry professionals enabled students to understand the importance of production planning, teamwork, quality assurance, technological advancements, and effective management practices in achieving organizational excellence. Students also interacted with the company officials and gained valuable insights into operational challenges, industrial safety measures, and the functioning of a modern beverage manufacturing organization.
The visit proved to be highly informative and beneficial, helping students strengthen their analytical, managerial, and observational skills while enhancing their understanding of manufacturing operations, quality control, supply chain management, and organizational efficiency. The programme was well received and provided valuable practical exposure to the functioning of a modern beverage manufacturing industry.
