Mangaluru, Jul 16: Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), Kotekar, celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patroness of the institution, with great faith, devotion, and enthusiasm on July 15 in the school auditorium. The entire school campus was filled with a festive spirit as students, teachers, and staff gathered to honour Mother Mary and seek her blessings.
The celebration commenced with a solemn prayer service, invoking the blessings of Our Lady of Mount Carmel upon the school community. The gathering was welcomed in a unique and creative manner, setting a joyful tone for the day’s programme.

Teacher Prafulla extended a warm welcome to the chief guest, Fr Archibald Gonsalves (OCD), whose gracious presence added significance to the occasion. The programme witnessed a series of vibrant cultural performances by the students. Energetic dances captivated the audience and reflected the students’ talents and enthusiasm.
An engaging quiz programme highlighted the significance and history of the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, helping the students understand the importance of Mother Mary in the Christian faith. The audience actively participated and appreciated the informative session. Adding depth to the celebration, the students presented a meaningful skit that beautifully portrayed the virtues of Mother Mary and conveyed valuable messages about faith, love, humility, and compassion. The performance left a lasting impression on everyone present.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, Fr Archibald Gonsalves (OCD), delivered an inspiring speech. Through beautiful examples, he spoke about the unconditional love and sacrifices of mothers and emphasized the important role of Mother Mary in the lives of believers. He encouraged the students to imbibe her virtues and seek her guidance in their daily lives. His thought-provoking message was appreciated by all.
The occasion also marked the distribution of certificates to the winners of various competitions. The students received their certificates amidst loud applause and appreciation from the audience.
The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of principal Sr Pramila AC, administrator Sr Julie Ann AC, and vice principal Sr Anitha AC, whose support and encouragement contributed greatly to the success of the celebration.
