Srinivas University organizes NSS Blood Donation Camp to promote community service and save lives

Mangaluru, Jul 16: Srinivas University, Institute of Management and Commerce, NSS Unit of BBA in association with the Institute of Port Shipping and Logistics Management successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp as part of its commitment to community service and social responsibility. The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Mass Blood Bank, Srinivas Hospital, Mukka.

The inaugural function was graced by Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar – Development, Srinivas University, as the chief guest. The programme was attended by Dr Venkatesh S Amin, dean, Institute of Management & Commerce, Ullas K T K, district youth officer and NSS District nodal officer, My Bharat, Dakshina Kannada, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, Dr Vijayan, assistant professor, Institute of Physiotherapy, Savitha, blood bank in-charge, Prof Joyson, NSS coordinator, department of MSW, Prof Sharmila S Shetty, head of the department of BCom, Prof Lalan Kumar, NSS coordinator, IPSLM, Prof Shilpa, head of the department of BBA, NSS coordinators - Prof Usha and Prof Ramitha B M and all the faculty members. The dignitaries highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and encouraged students to actively participate in humanitarian activities. They emphasized that a single unit of blood can save multiple lives and that youth should play a leading role in promoting social welfare.

Following the inaugural programme, the blood donation camp commenced under the supervision of the medical team from Mass Blood Bank, Srinivas Hospital, Mukka. NSS volunteers efficiently coordinated the registration process, donor assistance, and overall management of the event. Students, faculty members, and volunteers enthusiastically participated in the camp and donated blood, demonstrating their commitment to serving society. The camp successfully created awareness about the significance of blood donation and inspired many first-time donors to contribute to this noble cause.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, organizers, medical staff, donors, volunteers, and participants for making the event a grand success.
