Mangaluru, Jul 17: With the blessings of the founder chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, the Institute of Hotel Management & Tourism organized its Orientation Programme 2026 for the newly admitted students at Vaikunta Hall, Hotel Srinivas, Mangaluru, on July 17.
The programme was presided over by Dr A Srinivas Rao, honourable chancellor, Srinivas University, and president, A Shama Rao Foundation. In his presidential address, he emphasized that the university's curriculum is designed to develop students academically, practically, professionally, and personally. He highlighted the importance of creativity, leadership, communication skills, personality development, and multi-skilled learning to meet the ever-changing demands of the hospitality, interior design, animation industries and mass communication. He encouraged students to actively participate in academic, cultural, and co-curricular activities to become industry-ready professionals and urged parents to remain in regular contact with the institution regarding their children's progress.







Srinivas University board of governors trustee member, Vijayalakshmi R Rao, welcomed the students to the Srinivas University family and advised them to make the best use of the opportunities provided by the university. She urged the students to study sincerely, respect their parents and teachers, and work hard to achieve their dreams.
Srinivas University board of governors trustee member, Prof Er A Mitra S Rao, administered the oath and inspired the students by sharing her experiences and observations about the hospitality profession. She emphasized that students of hotel management represent the institution wherever they go through their discipline, etiquette, personality, and hospitality. She encouraged them to maintain commitment, dedication, professionalism, and ethical values throughout their academic journey and future careers. She also reminded students to enjoy campus life responsibly while maintaining discipline and respecting their boundaries.
The programme was graced by the presence of A Samana S Rao, member of the Srinivas University Board of Governors, and Dr Ajay Kumar, Srinivas University development registrar.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof B Prashanth Prabhu, dean, Institute of Hotel Management & Tourism. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Jeetha. The programme was efficiently compered by Prof Prajna Odilnala, Prof Priyanka Prabhu, and Prof Supriya Adiga.
