Mangaluru, Jul 20: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, organised a mock press competition on July 17 for the students of BBA Aviation Management and BBA Aviation and Logistics Management.

The competition was designed to provide students with practical exposure to media interaction and press conference situations while enhancing their communication skills, confidence, critical thinking, and professional presentation abilities.

A total of 20 students participated enthusiastically in the competition by taking on various roles and responding to questions asked by the audience and judges. The participants demonstrated their ability to communicate effectively, think critically, respond confidently, and handle questions in a professional manner.

The activity simulated a real-life press conference, enabling students to understand the importance of clear communication, active listening, quick decision-making, crisis communication, and effective interaction with the media.

The event concluded with the recognition of the top three performers. Aashly Pratheesh of first year BBA Aviation Management emerging as the winner. Parvathi Joshi of first year BBA Aviation and Logistics Management secured the second place, while Anna Preethika of third year BBA Aviation Management was awarded the third place.

The winners demonstrated excellent communication skills, confidence, presence of mind, and the ability to respond effectively to questions in a simulated press conference setting.

The mock press competition concluded successfully with the support and guidance of the dean, Dr Pavithra kumari, student welfare officer, heads of departments, management coordinators, faculty members, student volunteers, and staff. The event was a valuable learning experience for the students and contributed significantly to their overall professional development and preparedness for future careers in the aviation industry.
