Udupi, Jul 22: The department of basic sciences & humanities of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, organized 'AAKRITI-2026', a science model exhibition and competition to promote scientific temper, creativity, and experiential learning among engineering students.
As part of the initiative, second-semester engineering students designed 45 science models on topics such as the human heart, digestive system, respiratory system, solar system, animal cell, plant cell, structure of an atom, and other fundamental concepts. The models were developed to serve as effective teaching aids for school students.




The institute distributed the models to four nearby educational institutions, 16 to S V H English Medium High School, Innanje, 10 each to St John's Academy, Shankerpura and Sri Narayanaguru High School, Padubelle and 9 to Government PU College, Hiriadka.
The school authorities appreciated the initiative, stating that the models would enhance classroom teaching through interactive and visual learning. The program successfully combined experiential learning with community outreach, reflecting SMVITM's commitment to academic excellence and social responsibility.
