Mangaluru, Jul 24: Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, celebrated Fresher's Day 2026 – AGNOVERSE at the Centenary Auditorium on July 18. This year's celebration revolved around the captivating theme of 'Web Series', transforming the campus into an exciting world inspired by some of the most popular series from around the globe. The event aimed to warmly welcome first-year students, encourage interaction, showcase their talents, and create a memorable beginning to their college journey.
The highlight of AGNOVERSE was the wide range of competitions organised throughout Freshers' Week, providing students with opportunities to showcase their creativity, intellect, leadership, and artistic talents. Each event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the freshers, who displayed remarkable talent, confidence, creativity, and team spirit.
The overall championship of AGNOVERSE 2026 was awarded to BCom FinTech for their outstanding and consistent performances throughout the week's competitions, while BBA 'B' secured the overall runners-up position.
The prestigious Mr & Miss Fresher competition, conducted through multiple challenging rounds, tested the contestants' confidence, communication skills, creativity, personality, and stage presence. Following an exciting finale, Aashna Jewel D’Souza of BCom FinTech was crowned Miss Fresher 2026, while Alistair N Pinto, also from BCom FinTech, was awarded Mr Fresher 2026.
The event commenced with an invocation seeking divine blessings, followed by the gracious presence of the dignitaries, including Sr Dr M Venissa AC, principal; Sr Dr Roopa Rodrigues AC, vice principal, along with the registrar, faculty members, student council members, and enthusiastic freshers.
Addressing the gathering, the principal congratulated the winners and encouraged the students to make the best use of the opportunities provided by the institution, reminding them that confidence, determination, and active participation are the keys to a fulfilling college life.
The celebrations concluded with fun-filled interactive games and entertainment organised by the student council, allowing students to unwind, celebrate, and build lasting friendships. Fresher's Day 2026 – AGNOVERSE was a grand success, filled with creativity, enthusiasm, and unforgettable memories.
