Chamba, Jul 24: A brave act by an ambulance staff member in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba has drawn widespread appreciation after he risked his life to carry a seven-month-old baby across a landslide-affected road stretch.

The incident occurred after a landslide blocked a mountain road in Chamba, leaving the route covered with huge rocks, mud and debris. With the hillside remaining unstable and posing a threat of further rockfalls, the ambulance worker stepped forward to ensure the infant reached safety.

A video of the incident, shared on X by user Nikhil Saini, showed the ambulance staff member carefully walking across the dangerous stretch while holding the baby securely against his chest.

Despite the challenging conditions, he slowly made his way through the slippery and uneven terrain and reached the ambulance stationed on the other side of the damaged road.

Other emergency personnel and local residents were present at the spot and assisted during the rescue operation.

Sharing the video, Saini praised the ambulance worker's courage and dedication, stating that he put his own life at risk to save the child.

The incident comes amid heavy monsoon rains in Himachal Pradesh, which have triggered landslides, road closures and disruption in several areas.

The video has gone viral on social media, with people hailing the ambulance worker as a "real-life hero" and praising his commitment to duty.

Several users expressed admiration for his bravery, with one commenting, "Not all heroes wear capes," while others called for recognition of his selfless act.
