Mangaluru, Jul 27: Guided by the motto, ‘Life is Precious - We Care with Love,’ the Sisters of Nympha Sadan Senior Citizens' Home celebrated Grandparents' and Elderly Day with great joy and reverence on the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus.
The celebration was a heartfelt tribute to the elderly residents, reaffirming that they are deeply valued, respected, and cherished. The day served as a reminder of the invaluable role senior citizens play in families and society.
Manjula from Pandeshwar police station graced the occasion as the chief guest. In her inspiring address, she encouraged the elderly to remain happy and grateful for the gift of long life bestowed by God. She emphasized that senior citizens hold a place of honour, saying that they are ‘in the place of God’ and deserve love, respect, and care from everyone.


















The programme also featured a variety of entertaining cultural performances and fun-filled games, bringing smiles and laughter to the faces of the elderly residents. The active participation of the residents made the celebration lively and memorable. As a token of love and appreciation, each resident was presented with a special gift.
The programme began with a warm welcome by Sr Dr Saritha D'Cunha. Sr Reena compered the event with grace, while Sr Reshma D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, participants, and all who contributed to making the celebration a grand success.
The celebration concluded on a joyful note, leaving the residents with renewed happiness, dignity, and a deep sense of belonging, truly reflecting the mission of Nympha Sadan to serve the elderly with compassion, love, and respect.
