Udupi: Cases booked against 23 buses for violating safety guidelines

Udupi, Aug 5: A joint enforcement drive by the Udupi Regional Transport Office (RTO) and traffic police has resulted in cases being registered against 23 buses for violating road safety guidelines.

The special inspection was carried out to verify whether buses were complying with the guidelines issued during the recent District Road Safety Committee meeting chaired by the deputy commissioner.

During the operation conducted by the Udupi Traffic police station in Udupi city on Monday, 15 cases were registered. Earlier, during a similar drive conducted by the Kundapur Traffic police station on July 27, eight cases were booked.

A total fine of Rs 11,500 was collected during the enforcement drive. Superintendent of police Hariram Shankar said that such inspections will continue in the coming days.

    Here question is about safety traffic rules that applies to both and private busses. It's not that easy to cancel permits of private transportation companies. Just take into account how Air India performed so badly by irregular flights, air raft crews and ground staff. Only corruption.

    Thank you Police, Thank you very much. Many busses are violating in the Mangalore city road also, Near Bendur, Kankanady..that route... We feel fear while riding bike, Kindly look in to it.
