Dubai, Aug 5: Multiple explosions were reported in Dubai's Jebel Ali industrial zone early Wednesday, triggering a major fire and sending thick plumes of smoke into the sky. Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the incident or reported any casualties.

According to reports, at least seven explosions occurred within a span of about 20 minutes near the Jebel Ali Port and adjoining industrial area, a major logistics and fuel hub in the United Arab Emirates. Videos showing flames and dense smoke quickly circulated on social media.

Officials have not released details on the extent of the damage, while local reports said two individuals were detained for allegedly filming and circulating videos of the incident.

Iran's Mehr News Agency claimed the explosions were caused by a missile attack launched from Yemen. However, Emirati authorities have not confirmed the claim or attributed responsibility for the incident.

Reports also indicated that thermal imagery detected a fire at a warehouse near the port used for fuel storage and transfer, suggesting a major blaze followed the explosions.

Around the same time, explosions were also reported in Yemen's capital, Sanaa. While some reports attributed them to airstrikes, others suggested missiles had been launched from Yemeni territory, adding to uncertainty over the sequence of events.

Some media outlets speculated that Yemen's Houthi rebels may have targeted the Jebel Ali industrial area. However, neither the UAE authorities nor the Houthis have officially confirmed any attack or claimed responsibility.
