PV Sindhu seeded ninth for BWF World Championships; Satwik-Chirag fifth

New Delhi, Aug 5: Former world champion PV Sindhu has been seeded ninth in the women's singles event for the BWF World Badminton Championships 2026, which will be held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi from August 17 to 23.

India's highest-seeded entry at the home championships is the men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who have been handed the fifth seed.

 

In men's singles, former World Championships bronze medallist Lakshya Sen has been seeded 14th.

In the mixed doubles event, Dhruv Kapila and Olympian Tanisha Crasto have been named the 15th seeds.

India will field two entries in each of the five disciplines at the World Championships and will have at least one seeded contender in four of them as the country looks to make a strong impression on home soil.
