Mysuru, Aug 5: Gracian Rodrigues has been appointed as the associate public relations officer (APRO) for the Diocese of Mysore.
The appointment order was officially issued by Francis Serrao SJ, bishop of Mysore, with the role coming into effect from August 1.

In his new responsibility, Rodrigues will function under the guidance of the vicar general and public relations officer, Msgr Anthappa M, and in consultation with the bishop.
According to the official appointment communication, his core duties will include assisting the diocese in building and maintaining cordial relationships with government departments, elected representatives, civic authorities, public institutions, and members of civil society. He will represent the diocese at appropriate public functions, facilitate communication between the diocese and various public agencies, and support the organization of diocesan events to promote the positive image and mission of the Church.
Furthermore, Rodrigues has been tasked with assisting the PRO in conveying the bishop's greetings and goodwill messages on important national occasions and major festivals of other faith communities, thereby fostering interfaith harmony, mutual respect, and cordial relations.
Expressing his sentiments on the new role, Rodrigues stated, "I am deeply honored and grateful to have been appointed as the associate public relations officer for the diocese of Mysuru. I express my heartfelt gratitude to the bishop for the trust and confidence he has placed in me. I humbly accept this responsibility and look forward to serving the diocese with dedication, integrity, and commitment."
