Hyderabad, Aug 7: Varun Tej’s much-awaited horror comedy Korean Kanakaraju hit theatres on Friday, August 7, and the film has received mixed reactions from audiences on its opening day.

Written and directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, the film features Varun Tej, Ritika Nayak and Satya in key roles. Soon after its theatrical release, moviegoers took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share their opinions about the film.

Several viewers praised Satya’s comic timing, while reactions to the overall storyline and execution remained varied.

One audience member described the film as “average overall”, stating that the movie became more engaging after the Korean concept was introduced. The viewer also appreciated Satya’s comedy performance, while calling the background score average.

Another user praised Varun Tej’s performance, especially his ability to portray different roles, and highlighted Satya’s humour as one of the film’s strengths.

Some viewers expressed positive opinions, calling the movie entertaining and appreciating the comedy sequences, particularly Satya’s performance.

Produced by Rajeev Reddy Yeduguru, Pramod Uppalapati and Vamri Krishna Reddy, Korean Kanakaraju features music composed by S Thaman, while Manojh Reddy has handled the cinematography.

The film marks Varun Tej’s return to the big screen after a two-year gap. His previous release was the 2024 film Matka. The actor is known for his performances in movies such as Gaddalakonda Ganesh, Kanche, Fidaa and Tholi Prema.
